“In Al-Ruwais we have everything we need for an optimal team base camp: a short journey to the Al-Shamal training ground, the best training conditions to be able to work in a concentrated and intensive manner and a wonderful ambience in the hotel,” said national coach Hansi Flick, who will nominate his squad for the four upcoming competitive games in the Nations League this Thursday. “These are important aspects for me as a coach.”

The DFB selection meets Japan in the preliminary round on November 23 in Doha and four days later at the Al Bayt Stadium north of the capital Spain. The third group match against New Zealand or Costa Rica, who are still playing each other in the playoffs, will take place again on December 1 at the Al Bayt Arena.

In the team quarters, “the team, the sporting director and the team behind the team will live in their own area, separate from the rest of the hotel operations,” said the DFB. Training takes place in the stadium of the first division club Al-Shamal SC, which is a few minutes away.

“We want to offer our team the best possible conditions for a successful tournament. By choosing this facility, we have met almost all of our requirements and needs for a team hotel,” said DFB director Oliver Bierhoff.

“During the intensive World Cup period, it always offers the opportunity to switch off from the games away from the hustle and bustle. There we can focus completely on our big task, work with concentration and regenerate. The team spirit at a World Cup plays a big role.”

FC Bayern has been interested in Ousmane Dembélé for years. According to media information, the people of Munich are said to have increased their efforts again, especially since there is apparently an opportunity in Barcelona.

So far, FC Barcelona has been considered the main prospect in courting Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski (33). Now the Catalans are threatened with competition from London.
