“Lenkom” with the filing of Anatoly Efros opened plays by Edvard Radzinsky way on scenes of different theaters in the country. It all started with the play “104 pages about love”, which later Georgy Natanson will be removed “once again about love”.

Moscow, 1964. Director Anatoly Efros head of the Theatre named after Lenin Komsomol second year. He came here from CDT — Central children’s theater (now the Ramtha), where he began to struggle with pomp and artificiality of prevailing on the Soviet scene. In the Central children’s, he staged plays by contemporary authors — Victor Rozov, Alexander Khmelik. Under his leadership, CDT has become one of the most popular Moscow theaters — including for adults. The actors in the performances Efros spoke with the audience easily, sincerely. By the way, one of the most talented actors of the troupe CDT was Oleg Yefremov, the future founder of the “Contemporary” — another modern drama.

His first play “my Dream… India”, written six years earlier, has already been successfully staged in the Theater of the young spectator. However, the big fame it brought him no. The name of the new play, he gave the original: 104 pages held the author’s manuscript.

It happened this time, however, it soon learned the Ministry of culture of the RSFSR. The conversation caused the whole administration of the theater, Radzinsky also came. This behavior is inexcusable, it’s not going to be on stage, swore at the Ministry. It was rumored that the plot of the play almost personally touched Minister of culture Ekaterina Furtseva.

But the play managed to defend. Radzinsky defended it, saying that it is only about love, and bad thoughts at the time of writing he was not.

some time after the premiere of “104 pages about love,” put in 120 theaters in the USSR. Efros and Radzinsky were jubilant.

Anatoly Efros first of all looked for in plays the characters are complex, ambiguous. He needed heroes, about the actions which need to reflect, realizing that their motives may not always be straightforward. He found it in “104 pages about love”. The Director carefully examined each character. For example, Evdokimov: working in the Institute, responsible, hardworking, a good specialist, a person with a pragmatic mindset. And to love is suitable as a pragmatist, selfish. Although it is a sense of importance, he hides behind irony.

Anatoliy was an ardent admirer and supporter of the system of Konstantin Stanislavsky and learned a lot from him. Stanislavsky talked a lot about the line of intuition and feelings on the example of Chekhov’s plays. He wrote the book “My life in art”: “I am not going to describe the productions of Chekhov’s plays, as this impossible. Their beauty is not transmitted by words, but hidden beneath or in the pauses, or in the views of the actors in the radiation of their inner feelings. While alive and dead things on the stage, and the sounds and scenery, and the images created by the artists, and the mood of the play and the performance. The point here is creative intuition and artistic sense.”

And I and Efros was interesting the most ordinary people, how it manifests itself in a given situation. Both, each in his time, the practice came to the same conclusion: you just need to watch the person, nothing embellishing.

four years after the premiere of Edvard Radzinsky met with the Director George Nathanson. It was like this: actress Tatyana Doronina, who starred in Natanson in “big sister”, did not like scary intermediate result. Then she asked the Director for permission to show the scenes footage of his friend. She watched the film along with his son, and both were delighted.

George G. first cited the large amount of work, but then watched in “Lenkom”. And decided. Radzinsky quickly wrote the script, calling it “once again about love”.

But here was not without difficulties: censorship intervened. After long discussions to withdraw was allowed. Again fears were aroused by the ease with which the heroine goes to a new friend after the first date. Nathanson decided to split the restaurant scene and the scene in bed is a small insert with a flying plane. Conventionally it is indicated that between the introduction and the beginning of a relationship it took some time that Natasha had the chance to fly in flight. The audience, however, especially that part of it that you saw the show, understood everything in his own way.

Over who to invite to the role of Natasha, Georgiy Grigoryevich long thought: of course, Doronin, who proved himself a brilliant last work. It was symbolic, given that with Radzinsky, he met because of her. The team has also been found Alexander Lazarev, Oleg Efremov and Alexander Shirvindt. The latter, as in the play, played by Felix.

the Success was incredible. The film became one of the major new films of 1968, received the Grand Prix “For the skill of directing and of high moral character” at the International film festival in Cartagena (Colombia). Tatiana Doronin became a superstar.
