The situation in Belarus in the period of the presidential campaign is heating up seriously, however, the interior Ministry has the necessary Arsenal of forces and means to ensure the security, said the first Deputy head of Department Gennady Kazakevich.

"We acknowledge that the situation on the eve of elections is seriously heating up. And we are not talking about some occasional violations of public order or the electoral law. Often we see planned, prepared action… In this regard I want to say that MHA has a sufficient number of forces and means in order to effectively neutralize threats like" – said em in an interview, "Belarus 1", which was shown on Sunday.

The Deputy Minister also said that in recent years began to receive threats against the Chairpersons of the election commissions, which were held in Belarus in 2019 parliamentary elections.

Presidential elections in Belarus scheduled for 9 August. On Friday, in Grodno held a picket in support of the nomination of a presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovski, spouse of the Belarusian works of Sergei Tikhanovski, in the course of which was arrested he and more than a dozen of his supporters.
