In the Azov sea began to actively spread the brown algae Cystoseira, which can be one of the components of the drug for regenerative therapy after COVID-19. According expeditionary research, candidate of chemical Sciences of plants recorded off the coast of Temryuk, Taman and Kerch peninsulas.

– 80-e years of the XX century in Russia was carried out works on production of drugs from algae for regenerative therapy after a series of illnesses. However, only about two years ago based on the ROE of the sea urchin and algae, have developed drugs to restore cancer patients after chemotherapy, – told “RG” candidate of biological Sciences Oleg Stepanyan.

the Scientists of the Murmansk marine biological Institute KSC RAS (laboratory of Professor Voskoboynikov) was developed and tested in St. Petersburg preparation from sea urchin eggs, having immunostimulating properties, and kelp.

Recent studies by scientists of the southern scientific center of RAS and Institute of biology of the southern seas Academy of Sciences showed that common on the Black and Azov seas brown algae Cystoseira can be a substitute for kelp from the Barents sea.

– In vukasovich algae, which include cistozira, contains a slightly different set of polysaccharides, in particular there are fucoidan, and they can be very effective in combination with the same ROE of the sea urchin. Cystoseira like a sponge, absorbs heavy metals and other harmful elements. Comprehensive scientific studies will continue to develop new medicines and to deal effectively with the consequences of various diseases, – said Oleg Stepanyan.
