As explained “RG” in the Ministry of justice, the relevant amendments are proposed to the administrative code and the criminal code.

“the Adoption of these bills will contribute to the improvement of mechanism of criminal and administrative responsibility of the persons required to pay child support,” – said the Agency.

Innovation is expected to close the loophole negligent parents who occasionally list the child some pennies to stay out of range of the administrative code and the criminal code.

According to Judicial Department at the Supreme court of Russia, last year under article of the administrative code for failure to pay alimony was punished by 107 thousand people. Of these, an overwhelming majority of 98.3 thousand citizens went to work, which is mandatory. And 7.5 thousand were punished with administrative arrest and a few days spent in the detention center.

But not all the lesson went good. Criminal charges for malicious evasion from payment of the alimony was convicted of more than 47 thousand people. By the way, 20 people convicted of evasion from payment of means for the maintenance of parents. The rest – nearly fifty thousand of the defendants did not pay the children. However, sometimes cunning alimony begin to list some ridiculous amount, almost 100-200 rubles, and formally cease to be willful defaulters.

Lawyer Victoria Danilchenko said he supported the initiative of the Ministry of justice.

“This question has long required attention, because the improvement of this measure can stabilize the overall situation with evasion from payment of the alimony, she says. Often the criminal case is terminated after a partial repayment. Because of this some of the worst alimony the impression that criminal liability will not affect them”.
