Song will not strangle, will not kill any coronavirus, so the musicians, deprived of live communication with fans, continue to do no matter what. Alexander F. Sklyar, observing the rules of self-isolation, recorded at the dacha outside Moscow the album “Songs in the time of cholera. Music diary quarantine 2020”. He was born spontaneously, has grown – as the name implies – from the documentary a musical diary. Freed from the usual rock-and-roll “routine” – rehearsals, trips, concerts – throughout April and may, Alexander communicated with the audience on the Internet: every few days was performed and posted to the network on one song played guitar.

I got up in the morning, and I came to the head kind of song, for example, a long-standing underworld “On the Moldavian music playing,” which never filled me before. Each time the logic of quarantine suggests that you need to sing today: I remember the song that was playing, then sit in front of the camera and write, – says the musician. All of a sudden these songs were by Association to pass on my condition.

Each song is accompanied by a short Foreword-a dedication. So, Hamburg the poetry of Yevgeny Golovin on 28 April Alexander announced as “a song in support of those suffering in quarantine in Germany, Italy and other countries” and was dedicated to “international tourism”. Old shansonnaja history “Stupid I did, got married to another” on 7 April dedicated to those “who are close to us whom we choose, or we choose whom we give our heart and soul…”. As a tribute to the past, Alexander has performed his “Sasha” from the acoustic album “In the kitchen”, released in 1992. Thanks to him, the group “VA-Bank”, the undisputed captain of which Sklar is more than 30 years, then sounded on the radio. The team played quite hard music with aggressive lyrics, the audience heard a new sound and found that rock musicians are fond of Alyosha Dimitrijevic and Sergei Yesenin. By the way, the song Batum verses the last was the premiere now released on disc.

Music for this poem I wrote during the quarantine for “Yesenin of the Day” on the channel “Culture” – says the artist – a poem found by chance, rustling Yesenin’s book, to the point I did not know this text. But suddenly discovered it, and the result was quite good composition…

At home, quarantine the album really was a sense of time and breath each day, which recorded a particular song. Sklar specifically refused Studio audio processing, so when listening to the feeling of a living presence.

In a sense, it’s like “we sit in the kitchen and smoke “Pegasus”, – Alexander remembers the lines of havethe aforementioned album “In the kitchen”. But then had another idea. Yes, we play in the kitchen, but in fact, the record was a Studio. Now, when each of us alone, we are all in isolation, we sit and play to the invisible audience, which also sits in quarantine. I just wanted to share my music as. This album-as the album document. So the audio tracks without a Studio overlays, without treatment recorded the maximum documented at my dacha in live mode.

to get a life “confession” musician of the 14 songs, each of which is dated day. Isolation – not that other, as a restriction of freedom of movement, although partly voluntary, but by themselves there are images of prison and the remnants of the camp folklore. Perhaps because musical diary of Alexander F. Sklyar is, in particular, from the prison songs. The dramaturgy of the album is an unusual, rich and interesting: it’s a journey and at the different creative periods of the artist, and historical milestones. There is “Diver” from the LP in 2016, “Hawk”; “the dawns here are quiet” and Twenty from the album “Vasja-conscience” 2011; “the Night after the summer,” joint project of AF Sklar and Garik Sukachev “the Boatswain and the tramp” 1995. The final was the song “hurry!”, the text of which is published in the collection “Free Russian poetry of the second half of XVIII – first half XIX century” under the title “Song of the Decembrists”. Recording from the archives of the Pushkin house is accompanied by a corresponding mark – “music and lyrics by Decembrists”.

– That no one raised the question – “why do Sklyar such a strange set of songs?” – I would say that he’s so weird, because I saw quarantine, – says the musician. This event, coming out of the ordinary. This has never happened before, and we all continue to survive it. Its consequences will occur in the future and in the psychology of each person, and the psychology of society, and in all manifestations of life.

the Album is loaded with the philosophical mood this spring, when under threat of infection by a coronavirus thought about the value of life and each and every day. The cover plate, in the opinion of the musician who best reflects its essence.

Is the inside view of the process, when we were all in an extraordinary situation. Each of us gets up in the morning and thinks about what will happen next? We read the news, scan social media, we have heard disturbing news about the people in your life: someone got sick, someone weird, someone puts stupid pictures. The reaction of some people to isolate themselves very surprised. It affects you because you’re in isolation, but are in the whole process. Yes, there is anxiety for loved ones, for the futuresecond life for… But sometimes I caught myself thinking that I feel good now that you some time to prepare for the next concert, do not have to go. Oh, how well I ever a spring is not spent in nature! This year I day by day watched the snow coming down, and as it gradually came to life. No, this isolation is not only negative but also some positive eventually revealed. Nature does not care about any quarantines, watching her begin to understand that you are a part of nature, part of the vast indifferent to all of our adversities in the process. This winter is turning into spring and then into summer – this is your life. And these flowers and then the fruits that we’ll pick and then it will be autumn and winter again, and this is the end, the extinction of life. Those who watched it as well as I could, and felt themselves part of nature, felt their personal life cycles. Perhaps after this quarantine, we’re a little bit better. And wiser.
