According to RBC, the ship “Akademik Chersky”, which can complete the offshore section of the pipeline “Nord stream – 2”, has changed ownership. Now the ship is owned by the Samara thermal power asset Fund (STIF).

the Fund owned by the “Gazprom Teploenergo” and “Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Samara”, which are included in “Gazprom Mezhregiongaz”. Previously, the Fund changed legal residence from Samara to Saint Petersburg.

According to lawyers, if the owner of the vessel made of STIF, so possible US sanctions against legal persons are considered non-hazardous.

a Source in Gazprom told RBC that “the sanctions risks in connection with the operation of the vessel offset”.
